Kind Decisions

This week we are looking at the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah. Read 18:16-19:15. Notice how Lot cared for the two angels before he knew they were angles. His hospitality to strangers ended up being an encounter with the divine. Read these verses and come to Sunday School with questions about the story. Also ask them here.

TOUGH QUESTION:
Do you think the angels would have saved lot if he had not shown them such hospitality?

Abram part two

This week we are going to continue to follow the story of Abram. Read chapter 13 and you will see that Abram and Lot were rewarded for following and trusting God. They were rewarded so much that it created a few problems. Read chapter 13 and reflect on whether or not anything good has happened to you after you trusted God?

TOUGH QUESTION
If something good happens after trusting God, is it a reward or is it coincidence?

This week during Sunday School, we are going start a discussion about Abraham. God chose Abraham to be a very important part of God's plan for the world. God had a huge plan for Abraham that did not always seem easy. Abraham had to trust God in some pretty big situations. To be ready for Sunday School, read Genesis 12:1-9. Comment on it and/or comment on the TOUGH QUESTION.

TOUGH QUESTION:
Give a specific or general examples of times that it has been difficult to trust God.

This Sunday we are going to talk about daily devotionals. Often these can be called "quite times." As mentioned on Sunday, you can never have a relationship with someone without communication and the same is with our relationship with God. Unless we make a point to spend time with God, how can we expect to grow with him? Read Psalm 25:4-5 and reflect on why that is important when thinking of how to conduct a "quite time". Be sure to comment to the TOUGH QUESTION or ask one of your own.

TOUGH QUESTION
Why is it so difficult to find a specific time to spend one on one with God?

If this book is what we are going to base our life on we need to know what it is! Think about why we have it, how it came to exist, what is it's purpose, who wrote it... If you think you have a good definition of what the Bible is or have questions about it post them here. Also don't forget to read and comment on the weekly TOUGH QUESTION.
